How You Can Help Make a Difference
Family Promise of WNY survives because of community kindness and goodwill. You don't need to donate thousands of dollars or hundreds of hours of service to make a difference. In fact, you can make a meaningful change for your neighbors in need with one hour of volunteer work or a single donation of clothing, food, or furniture. Below are ways you can help us in our mission to respond to the needs of homeless families in Western New York.
Make a Financial Contribution
Give the gift of a financial donation that will help Family Promise of WNY provide food, shelter, and support services to homeless families in need. All financial contributions made to the Family Promise of WNY are used to support our local organization and no contribution is ever too small.

- Help prepare for new families
Host Site:
Volunteers from host congregations provide hospitality to Family Promise guest families through their church, synagogue or place of worship. We welcome volunteers of
all ages. These volunteers help us provide meals, overnight hospitality, and a friendly face to our families. Other volunteer jobs include:
- Cooking and/or hosting dinner
- Spending the evening with guest families chatting, tutoring kids or playing games
- Sleeping overnight in the congregation
- Coordinating children’s crafts and activities
- Donating needed supplies for the host week
- Setting up and breaking down guest families’ rooms
Support Site:
Volunteers from support congregations provide volunteers of nearby host congregations with added help and team support. These volunteers may find themselves doing any of the
congregations duties above.
Special Events/Board Committees:
Family Promise needs many volunteers who are interested in assisting with special events or serving on a Board committee.
